Open is a renovation project for a house located in Torre Faro.
It takes the form of a minimalist structure, defined by a solid wall of white bricks that marks the boundary with the public space.
Once inside, the architecture changes tone: the exposed X-Lam structure takes centre stage, declaring the sincerity of the construction and the choice of a sustainable, lightweight, high-performance system.
The interiors are characterised by light orange wooden slats, which cover the walls and portions of the ceiling, creating a material contrast with the rigour of the external envelope.
Natural light flows continuously through the spaces, connecting solids and voids, opaque surfaces and warm surfaces.
Open is a project that works by subtraction: few materials, clearly legible, used consistently.
An architecture that closes to protect and opens to live.
