The renovation of this elegant flat in the centre of Catania arose from the need to restore clarity and spatial quality to a fragmented layout.
The intervention redefines the spaces through a new, more open and continuous layout, capable of enhancing the relationships between the home’s various functions. The living area is configured as a spacious and articulated space, where the kitchen and living room interact without rigid divisions, whilst the more private areas retain a more intimate character.
The project is developed through subtraction, reducing superfluous elements and allowing a more legible spatial structure to emerge. Surfaces are treated with restraint, alternating neutrality with textural accents that help define the identity of the spaces without weighing them down.
Light, both natural and artificial, plays a central role: it guides the flow of movement, shapes the volumes and lends depth to the spaces. Every element is designed to integrate into the overall design, avoiding clutter and maintaining a consistent aesthetic
