Slice is a project that comes from the idea of the excavation: a single element is divided into two parts and divided into several elements connected through a common “fault” and open to the surrounding context by movable panels.
The two bodies that make up the project are separated by a strip of glass light that acts as a link between the different environments and allows you to access and move freely within the villa.
The north-facing body contains the functions
related to the service areas, therefore the toilet, laundry, pantry and kitchen. Instead the body to the south contains the bedrooms and the living area, facing the sea. The interiors just listed develop on the long side of the building, open towards the area through mobile panels covered in alternating terracotta and chestnut wood. These panels act as a filter and characterize the elevations of the villa making the rooms warmer in contrast with the exposed concrete of the structure and the lava stone of the basement.
